invisalign

Invisalign is a great choice to straighten misaligned teeth without having to use traditional metal bracket braces. Stop by our office for a complimentary consultation to see if Invisalign is the right choice for your orthodontic needs.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear, removable aligners that are difficult for anyone to see that you are wearing. The aligners are made with state-of-the-art CAD/CAM 3D technology to precisely move teeth to their desired location.

How does Invisalign work?

Patients usually will wear each set of aligners for 2 weeks, only to remove them to eat, drink, brush and floss. As you change each aligner, your teeth will move slowly, until they have aligned to their final prescribed position. You will visit with your Invisalign provider periodically to ensure that the treatment is going as planned. The average treatment time for a comprehensive Invisalign case is approximately 11 months.

teeth Whitening

As we get older, our teeth can become yellow and discoloured from years of eating, drinking, and (for some of us) smoking. With our simple teeth whitening treatment, you can reverse the years of staining and get back the beautiful pearly white smile you used to have.

Our teeth whitening procedure is safe, quick, and inexpensive. On your first appointment, an impression is taken so we can make a specialized "mouthguard" or "stent" to hold the bleach against your teeth. You can pick up your custom bleach splints in one or 2 days, which come with a special dental bleaching agent that you put into the custom splints. Just wear it for 15 minutes each day for one or two weeks, and watch your teeth whiten before your eyes! Our special bleaching solution gently removes the stains right out of your teeth in a very short time without altering or weakening your tooth structure or undermining any dental work you already have. Once your teeth reach the desired brightness, only occasional treatment is necessary to maintain your new and improved smile.

For severely yellowed or discoloured teeth, dental veneers or crowns may be a more appropriate treatment. Fortunately in most cases, our teeth bleaching procedure is effective for most patients, and is also one of the quickest and most low cost cosmetic dental procedures.

Porcelain Veneers

What are Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic material that are bonded to the outside of your teeth. Considered to be one of the most versatile cosmetic dentistry procedures available, this smile enhancement option can be used to whiten and straighten teeth, as well as to fill in gaps between them. With porcelain veneers we can revitalize the appearance of your smile, customizing each veneer to match the shade and shape of your adjacent natural teeth for a beautiful, long-lasting result.

Porcelain veneers are custom-crafted to attach to the front surface of one or more teeth, providing an outward appearance of symmetry and health. Porcelain veneers can effectively conceal:

Intrinsic (internal) teeth stains and discoloration, which often results from root canal therapy and other treatments

  • Visibly worn teeth
  • Chipped or cracked teeth that don’t require root canal treatment or dental crowns
  • Slightly misaligned or misshapen teeth
  • Odd spacing that causes unsightly gaps between teeth

Schedule an appointment with us today to see if you can benefit from porcelain veneers.

Dental Implants

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium root that can be used to replace a natural tooth that is lost due to trauma, decay or gum disease. A dental implant consists of three parts: the implant, a titanium root that replaces your natural tooth’s root under the gum; an abutment, which is the foundation on which your new tooth will be seated; a crown, which is the tooth that is visible above the gum.

What are the benefits of a dental implant versus other options?

Dental implants, because they are made of titanium, cannot get a “cavity” like your natural teeth. Dental implants keep “a one tooth problem a one tooth problem.” When you have a bridge to replace a single tooth, healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth are drilled to prepare the bridge. With a dental implant, no other teeth are affected to create your new tooth. To replace one or more missing teeth lost due to trauma, decay or gum disease. To support a bridge for the replacement of multiple missing teeth. To stabilize loose or uncomfortable dentures. Dental implants can be used to anchor dentures, keeping them in place while you are chewing and talking. To build a new set of teeth that both look and feel natural.

Preventative Care

Highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth, dental sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic “coating” is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively “seals” the deep grooves, acting as a barrier and protecting enamel from plaque and acids.

Sealants protect the depressions and grooves of your teeth from food particles and plaque that brushing and flossing can’t reach.

Easy to apply, sealants take only a few minutes to seal each tooth. Sealants hold up well under the force of normal chewing and can last several years before a reapplication is needed.

Dental sealants have been shown to be most effective on teeth when they are newly erupted in the mouth. This occurs in children at around 6 years of age and 12 years of age when their permanent molars erupt. Every child however develops differently, so the need for dental sealants should be evaluated on an individual basis.

NIGHTGUARDS

Nightguards are the most common treatment for Bruxism. Bruxism is an involuntary grinding of the teeth and clenching of the jaw muscles that occurs to some extent of most people. Bruxism often occurs during sleep and is one of the most common sleep disorders. Bruxism can range from mild wearing of the teeth and muscle tenderness to significant pain from dental and muscular issues. Dental issues that can arise from Bruxism include abnormal wear patterns on the chewing surface as well as abfractions on the gum line and fractures in the teeth. Over time severe wear can lead to tooth loss and significant gum recession. Since bruxism also includes clenching of the jaw muscles it can lead to facial muscle pain and headaches. Severe cases can lead to or be a result of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder or TMD..

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES

Digital Radiology

Digital x-rays are faster than conventional x-rays, and they are more comfortable for you. They also aid us to accurately diagnose your oral health needs. All with up to 90% less radiation exposure! With no chemical processing needed, digital technology helps us do our part to keep the environment safe, too. The dental x-ray image can be viewed instantly on our computer screen, giving the doctor and the patient an opportunity to discuss findings and treatment.

SOFT TISSUE LASER

The diode laser represents the latest advance in laser technology. It is a surgical instrument that is reliable, portable, and powerful. It provides quick, precise dental surgeries. It also results in greatly reduced post-operative pain. Laser therapy has a broad range of applications, which includes cosmetic gum tissue reduction, and more exact preparations when providing our patients with their ideal smile. We can use the laser to recontour gum lines, perform tooth reshaping, treat canker sores and fever blisters, remove suspicious lesions for biopsy, and more. Laser dentistry is more comfortable than traditional dental surgery. Because the laser seals and sterilizes tissue as it goes, there’s minimal bleeding and no need for stitches. Procedure and recovery time are fast, and most patients resume their normal activities quickly following laser surgery. Many patients report that they feel virtually no discomfort during or after treatment with our soft-tissue laser.

Trios 5 sCANNER

A new addition to the practice is The Trio 5 scanner, the scanner creates a  3-D image of the patients mouth in a matter of seconds. The Trios scanner is a more comfortable, efficient, and patient friendly way of collecting information needed for crowns, implants, orthodontic treatment, and diagnostic models. The scanner allow patients to be more interactive in the exam process, which provides patients with a greater sense of understanding and responsibility about personal dental health. Although a traditional visual inspection of the teeth may have been suffice in the past the Trios scanner elevates the dental experience, allowing the dental team to focus on providing the  highest quality care to our patients.

The Trios scanner is not just a diagnostic tool, it is also an educational tool which allows our dental team to design an accurate and precise treatment plan for our patients. In the past, dentists have struggled to explain dental decay and other health problems to patients. Most people cannot see well into their own mouths, which leaves dentists to drawing diagrams or using props to attempt to explain what is going on in the mouth of their patients.

With the Trios scanner the patient sees exactly what the dentist sees on an in-office screen. If necessary, the dentist can pause on a particular tooth or area of the mouth to point out problems and explain possible treatment options. This also frees the patient to ask questions and become a part of the examination process. When dentists can point out specific places on the actual teeth that are decaying, patients may have a better idea of how home hygiene practices and brushing techniques are affecting them.
